The problem with a websites like Fiverr…

Now, don’t get me wrong, I bloody love a bargain! That shiny new pair of shoes, marked 50% off… But, it’s now Spring and these are sparkly stilletoes that would be suited more to a Christmas party… Not really useful to me now. Plus, they didn’t have my size. I totally get why someone might be tempted to check out Fiverr and get the cheapest logo going. However, what kind of service are you really getting? Are you confident the designer is going to provide you with a logo that will stand the test of time? I get many clients who’ve got their logo on Fiverr or asked their friend’s son who likes to draw to design them something. But it’s never quite been the logo of their dreams. So they’ve come to me to help them fix the problem. I don’t mind picking up the pieces but the best way to obtain the brand of your dreams is to carefully select your designer. Branding and design should be a relationship – in my brand packages I always offer a discovery session, where I learn EVERYTHING about your business. I have 12 years’ experience in branding both global and UK based businesses so know exactly what to do to create the perfect brand. I take time to learn about your business and I love the relationship I have with my clients – if you bought a logo from Fiverr, who will you approach to help with leaflets or a website? Unfortunately, you’d be dealing with a faceless name on the internet. I know time can be of the essence too; you want a logo in the next week and Fiverr seems to be so quick. But, branding takes time and my job is to ensure what is created for you is going to last you for 10 years or more. My clients don’t actually have to wait too long for their projects to be completed – the average for a small branding project is just 2-3 weeks. And believe me, it’ll be worth the wait. I absolutely love this quote from AIGA:

“Design is an investment in innovative thinking, positioning, branding and communication that creates value for businesses in terms of competitive advantage, customer trust and loyalty, and market share. In a rapidly changing global and local business environment, design thinking helps business counter the complexity of conditions with creative solutions. In a global economy in which production gravitates toward the lowest cost producer, human-centered design provides the competitive differentiation needed to gain market share. Design is a critical strategic asset that is most effective when employed early in corporate plans, not as a decorative finality.”

I hope this has made sense – it’s something which I’m really passionate about and if you have any questions, just let me know. I always offer a free consultation so if you’re worried about the cost of your project, then we can have a chat about it and iron out some of those worries.
