Branding is important; you don’t need me to tell you that. But when should you start the process of branding your business?
AT THE BEGINNING
Ideally, once you’ve got your business idea set in stone the branding process should begin. In a way, it’s already begun! You’ve probably already thought about the when, why, who and hows for your new business, which is what we will used to start the branding process.
If you don’t want to waste time then the branding process needs to start immediately – that way you won’t miss out on any potential customers or clients by using something you might have put together yourself. What you spend on branding will be returned ten-fold by new customers very quickly.
WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR NAME
You might already be a well-established business, but just want to be known as something else! You might have new services to offer or new products that need to reach a different type of customer – this is when the perfect brand needs to be designed.
YOU WANT TO INCREASE SALES
Perhaps your branding is a little lacklustre and needs a refresh? You’ve noticed that you aren’t attracting the right type of customers and want to attract a more upmarket clientele. Embarking on a new brand style will pay dividends once you’ve targeted the right people with the right message.
YOUR OFFERING HAS CHANGED
Put simply, if you’re now selling books instead of writing them then you’ll definitely need a re-brand. If the type of business you’re in isn’t the same then how can your current branding reflect this? It’s time for a change.
